Bridget Bryson

Teacher Librarian

I am passionate about students having access to books as well as joyful learning spaces beyond the classroom.  I was an English Language Arts teacher before taking this opportunity, and am only too aware of the research that shows us how the more access to books a student gets, the better their learning outcomes will be!  As a founding educator here at DeSana, I am very passionate about helping our students to have more opportunities in multiple ways.  As we like to say, /Page/55430/WeAreDeSana!

Originally from the United Kingdom, I was originally certified in Iowa as K-8 in Social Studies, Science and English Language Arts (ELA). I then moved to Forsyth in 2015 and became ELA certified to teach here in Georgia. I was at Piney Grove Middle School for one year, then came to DeSana the year we opened. I have taught both sixth and seventh grade.

My husband Paul and I have two children. Stephanie, who lives in Perth, Australia and Ben, who lives in Atlanta. We have a horse, Sunny, and two dogs - Toffee Girl and Yuffie.

My goal this year is to make our Media Center so much more than a library - from Legos to jigsaws and so much more. Students will be welcomed into the Media Center to practice creative thinking skills as well as have a place to read.

This is my 12th year with Forsyth County Schools.  I began my career as an Instructional Assistant at Kelly Mill Elementary and was an ESOL teacher at Denmark High School this past year. I have two adult sons, Aaron and Matthew, who graduated from West High School.  My family loves sports, and we enjoy watching UGA and Atlanta United games together.  I also enjoy reading and walking my dogs.

I am passionate about learning and can’t wait to see you in the Media and Learning Center!
