Dr. Tameka Osabutey-Aguedje, Principal

My name is Tameka Osabutey-Aguedje, and I've been the proud principal of Piney Grove Middle School since June of 2022. I joined Forsyth County Schools in 2017 in the վ Teaching and Learning Division as a Science/STEM/Health/PE Specialist. I was promoted to assistant principal at West Forsyth HS in 2020. I served as a Science teacher, assistant principal, and STEM Program Manager in Rockdale prior to my time in վ. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Education from Eastern Michigan University. I later received a master's degree in Instructional Technology from The University of Southern Mississippi and a specialist in Teacher Leadership from Mercer University. I earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University completing a dissertation focused on principal leadership. I enjoy spending time with my husband Isaac, a Technical Associate Director of Analytics & Supply Chain, two adult daughters (Crystal and Chassidy) and two young boys who attend Piney Grove (Isaiah and Samuel).

Mrs. Danielle Sherfey, Assistant Principal

Greetings Grizzlies!

 We are looking forward to a fantastic 2024-2025 school year!

 My name is Danielle Sherfey, and I am proud to be serving the Piney Community as the 6th grade Assistant Principal! This will be my 15th year in education and my 6th year serving in a leadership role. I came to Forsyth County Schools from Fulton County in 2014. I have served as an 8th grade ELA teacher, Graduation Coach, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Administrator during my time at Lakeside and South Forsyth Middle School. I have been a part of the Grizzly family as Assistant Principal for 3 years now and love working with our community! This will be my second year serving as the 6th grade Assistant Principal. In this role, I will be supporting our students in the transition to middle school as well as celebrating their growth and achievements throughout the year.

 My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in English Language Arts and a minor in Science from Eastern Michigan University.

 Outside of school, my husband, Chris, and I spend our time supporting and cheering on our children Brayden (14) and Aria (11) in their activities. As a family, we enjoy watching sports, traveling, and spending quality time together with our dog, Diggie.

 I am looking forward to an amazing year of learning and growing together!

Dr. Melisa Marsh, Assistant Principal

My name is Dr. Melisa Marsh, and I am excited to join the Piney Grove Middle School team for the 24-25 school year. I am entering my 21st year of education. I joined Forsyth County from the Cobb County վ Central Office where I served as the Supervisor of School Counseling, Advisement, and Crisis Response. I have 20 years of experience in filling the roles of a Georgia High School Counselor and Department Chair, Counseling Consultant, and School Counseling and Advisement Consultant. 

 I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Personnel Services and Specialist Degree in School Counseling from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I received my Advanced Masters in School Counseling Program from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I received my leadership degree from Kennesaw State University. Finally, I received my Bachelors degree from Berry College in School Psychology. 

 I am a national speaker for the National Center for Youth Issues. I am also the author of two books in the 15-Minute Focus series: Suicide: Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention and Depression: Signs and Strategies for Counselors, Educators, and Parents, along with my latest workbook titled Stress and Burnout in Education. 

 I live in the Atlanta Metro area with my husband, Alex, and puppies, Memphis and Tallinn. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, yoga, cycling, running, hiking, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Mr. Jeremy Combs, Assistant Administrator

My name is Jeremy Combs, and I am entering my 18th year as an educator and my 8th year in Forsyth County Schools.  Prior to education, I worked for Bose Corporation and served in the Georgia Army National Guard as a Combat Medical Specialist.  Prior to becoming an administrator, I spent 16 years in the classroom teaching all levels of middle and high school mathematics.  I have served as gifted coordinator, department chair, and grade level chair.  As an Assistant Administrator, my goal is to support, and connect with the students, teachers, parents, and community of Piney Grove Middle School.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of North Georgia, Master of Arts in Gifted Education, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My wife of 20 years, Melissa, teaches AP US History and AP Government at North Forsyth High School.  Our children, Jayden (14), Michael (9), and Kayleigh (7), all attend Forsyth County Schools and are active in basketball, soccer, and cheerleading.  We enjoy hiking, camping, and Atlanta Hawks basketball.
